| Nadia Yassine forbidden to leave Moroccan territory …yet again! | |
| Nadia Yassine was once again forbidden to leave the Moroccan territory on Monday 20th February. She was supposed to take part in a symposium in Berlin about the Islamic thinking, organized by the centre for modern Oriental studies “ZMO”, and to which there were invited several personalities and key figures, along with many international experts in politics and cultural affairs . |
| Nadia Yassine participation on Tuesday was intended to be a public conference entitled “The movement Al Adl Wal Ihsan: theory and practice”. She was also supposed the day after to attend a round table in the presence of many press representatives, governmental organs and numerous experts interested in the subject. The organizing committee of the symposium asserts that the number of demands to assist to these particular activities exceeds by far any other one recorded in the history of the center. |
| Mrs Nadia Yassine also states that she spent long hours waiting in the airport police’s office, expecting justifications from the people in charge, in order to tell apart if it’s a legally justified procedure or simply one of the “Makhzenian instructions”; Legal representatives are rightly trying to clear up this very subject. As for the resumption of her judicial trial, she affirms that lawyers confirm that it is due on March 14th , but she hasn’t received any convocation as yet. |
| We all remember that Nadia Yassine was prohibited from leaving the Moroccan national territory on June 14th ,and was therefore prevented from participating in the “Mediterranean social forum” organized in Barcelona from the 14th to 19th june,2005. She was subject to a lawsuit that resulted in a parole since the 5th June for “Harm of the monarchic system and non respect of the king”, consequent to an interview published in the “Ousbouia Al Jadida”. The first session of the trial was held on June 28th, 2005. And the affair was strangely suspended. Then, in a new turnabout, another hearing is scheduled for March 14th, 2006.The matter is worth keeping an eye on… |
